Bespoke and Ready-to-Wear Millinery
Luxury Brand and Sporting Festival Collaborations
Laura Cathcart has quickly established herself as one of the country's top Society milliners with timeless summer and winter collections. She offers both a bespoke and ready-to-wear service for weddings, racing and other special occasions. She also offers a bridal range.
Brought up in Norfolk, from a racing family, Laura now has her workshop in a converted Coach House in Shropshire which she shares with two pugs. Appointments can be made to visit her studio or her Belgravia showroom in Ebury Street, SW1.
All hand-stitching is done in Laura's Shropshire studio. She trained at the London College of Fashion and also as an interior designer with Colefax and Fowler in Mayfair where she developed her eye for beautiful fabrics and unique designs. After learning her craft working for milliner Gina Foster, Laura set up her own boutique in 2011.
Laura has been profiled in many glossy magazines and her hats appear regularly in magazine fashion shoots, from Sunday Times Style to YOU magazine (see Press). She also appears on TV and radio as a fashion stylist and commentator. Her clients include many well-known individuals from the worlds of royalty, film, theatre, racing, business, Society and fashion. Her hats are always chic and distinctive at race meetings, weddings and special occasions all year.
She also collaborates with luxury brands and festivals to create distinctive and unique pieces for shop windows, race meetings and special corporate events. These collaborations include being selected as an official milliner of Royal Ascot in 2016 (as part of the Royal Ascot Millinery Collective) and working with such brands as Charbonnel & Walker, Fortnum & Mason and Veuve Cliquot. Laura has also worked with fashion brands and designers including Amanda Wakeley, Beulah and Grace Wales Bonner.
Her two brand ambassadors are the English actresses Georgina Rylance and Charlotte Radford. Georgina’s last film was with Brad Pitt and Charlotte's latest project is with Al Pacino. Laura’s hats have appeared in transatlantic TV dramas (such as worn by Elizabeth Hurley in The Royals) and on the stage. She can produce hats suitable for any costume drama or historical period, from Elizabethan to Edwardian.
